January 2001 Business Meeting

Time:     7:00 PM
Location:     Athens Group Offices
5608 Park Crest Drive Ste. 200
Directions:     Take Mopac to 2222 exit, going west, turn left at the 2nd light (that is Park Crest Drive) and take an immediate right into the parking lot, Ste 200 is on the second floor.

Come join us to discuss the Articles of Incorporation and the Bylaws...also to be discussed will be future plans as well as offices...we need a secretary since ours has left for Florida...(see below for details).

The Articles are pretty standard and can't really be changed because of the requirements for nonprofit status...so they are here mainly to inform..it is the Bylaws that we have control over and should discuss so that we can make any required changes and approve them.

Also under discussion will be early plans for SXSW and future meetings.

Bring any concerns, suggestions, ideas you have about the direction of HD to the table for more open discussion.

Office of Secretary up for appointment (appointment process discussed below)

duties/requirements:

  • 1) attend 75% of open meetings (seminar/workshop attendance is optional)..take notes to be posted as minutes to both the list and website.
  • 2) participate in board meetings (also take minutes of these so that we can keep the members more informed)
  • 3) plan at least 2 meetings for the following year...any topic as relates to the list...can draft people to help get speakers/space...don't let this part scare you...the rest of the board will help.
  • 4) post Members FYI message as close to the start of the month as possible...

    Appointment process:

  • Members interested in the position need to attend the meeting in Jan
  • all members in attendance will then discuss the position and vote (if necessary) on the new secretary, usually a consensus is reached during the discussion without having to actually perform an official vote..with most interested parties agreeing to support one person.

    Thanks!
    Minnie Rangel

    Please RSVP to Donna Kidwell.
